Selena Gomez Launches Rare Beauty’s First Fragrance: Everything You Need to Know”

Selena Gomez is adding a new sensory layer to her beauty empire. Rare Beauty is officially stepping into the fragrance world with the launch of Rare Eau de Parfum, a rich, comforting scent designed to evolve with you, whether you’re lounging at home or headed out for the night.

Described as “warm and decadent with a touch of spice,” the perfume is Rare Beauty’s first foray into scent and features notes like caramel, pistachio, vanilla, cocoa beans, and pink pepper. Crafted in France and consciously formulated with vegan, paraben-free ingredients, this eau de parfum is just as thoughtful as the rest of the brand’s offerings.

What sets it apart is the customizable experience. Rare Beauty also dropped four Fragrance Layering Balms—in Amber Vanilla, Floral Peony Blossom, Fresh Bergamot, and Woody Oak—that let you personalize your scent. Dab one onto pulse points before spraying the perfume on top to create your unique vibe. It’s all about flexibility, which Gomez says reflects her lifestyle. “My days are never the same, so I wanted a fragrance that evolves for the moment,” she shared.

Accessibility is also at the heart of the launch. The gold-capped bottle was designed with ergonomic ease in mind, made to be sprayed using one finger, four fingers, or the palm. Rare Beauty partnered with a hand therapist and packaging engineers to ensure the bottle is easy to use for everyone, including those with dexterity challenges.

The 50ml bottle of Rare Eau de Parfum will retail for $75 and is available exclusively at Sephora and the Rare Beauty site starting August 7.

Beyond beauty, Gomez continues to expand Rare Beauty’s philanthropic mission. The brand recently launched its Giving Circle, encouraging monthly donations to support mental health organizations. It builds on the Rare Impact Fund’s goal to raise $100 million in ten years for underserved communities, and 1% of all Rare Beauty sales go directly to that cause.
